RVing on Île d’Orléans: 5 Terego stopovers to explore

June 18, 2026Escapade

There are places that make you want to slow down the moment you set wheels there. Île d’Orléans is one of them!

Just a few minutes from Québec City, this island seems to move at a different pace: peaceful roads, views of the river, and picturesque farms stretch out for just a few kilometres. For motorhome travellers, it’s also the perfect destination: the distances are short (ideal for saving on gas!) and there’s plenty to discover. Marie-Ève from the Terego team suggests an itinerary on Île d’Orléans, sharing her experiences visiting local producers who offer overnight stopover with Terego.

Saint-Pierre Le Vignoble

It’s impossible to imagine an itinerary on Île d’Orléans without including a stop at a vineyard. At Saint-Pierre Le Vignoble, enjoy views of the vineyards and the river. The setting naturally invites you to slow down. I opted for the guided tour; the experience allows you to discover the different products, chat with the team and learn more about the work that goes into every bottle. Don’t feel like cooking in your campervan? Savour one of the three platters created to pair perfectly with the estate’s wines, whilst admiring the breathtaking view of Montmorency Falls. I particularly enjoyed the originality of the ‘seafood platter’, featuring balsam fir-smoked salmon, salmon rillettes, marinated seasonal vegetables and potato salad.

Watching the sun set over the island with a glass in hand and your RV parked up for the night is exactly what members can experience with Terego!

Domaine Sainte-Famille (16 km)

As soon as I arrive at Domaine Sainte-Famille, I can’t wait to get my camping chair out so I can enjoy the peace and beauty of the place. Perched high on the island’s north bank, you’ll enjoy a magnificent view of the river and the mountains in the distance. Dominique and Christian, the owners, along with their four children, have been welcoming Terego members for several years. They invite you to take a stroll through their 50-hectare orchard and discover the many picnic spots. After a warm welcome from the owners, I was treated to a tasting of their wide range of wines, ciders and digestifs made from apples, pears and grapes. The Poirée de l’Île was an instant favourite! Comfortably settled in a red Adirondack chair, under the apple trees, I also loved the charcuterie and cheese platter made with local produce. The hardest part of the day was choosing which bottles to take home.

For Terego members, the campervan and RV site offers a magnificent view of the river.

Marianne & Marion Farm (4 km)

In tune with the seasons, the Marianne & Marion farm grows over 100 varieties of organic fruit trees and shrubs. Apples, pears, plums, table grapes, soft fruits, nuts and even peaches – all 100 % from Île d’Orléans – are on offer. Berry lovers won’t be disappointed either: haskaps, raspberries, blackcurrants, blackberries, cherries, blueberries, gooseberries and redcurrants round off this generous selection. The farm team consists of seven members with varied and complementary backgrounds. I’m impressed by the way they use the diversity of their orchard to strengthen the natural balance of their agroecosystem. A stop like this reminds us why so many Terego members love to travel differently. You don’t just see a place, you meet the people who bring it to life!

Terego members can spend the night in their caravans or motorhomes, enjoying views of the vineyards, the river and the mountains along the Côte de Beaupré.

Sucrerie Blouin (14 km)

Sucrerie Blouin has been the most popular Terego host since joining the network two years ago, and for good reason! The view of the St Lawrence River is magnificent, and there’s a beach accessible to members. Paddleboarders and kayakers will be delighted by the access to the river. The host also provides a spot to light a campfire – a lovely way to meet other motorhome travellers who are also stopping off there and to make the evening last a little longer. The sugar shack offers a range of home-cooked dishes to enjoy in their dining room, on their terrace or by the river (bookings essential). As well as sweet treats such as maple taffy, ice cream cones and ‘oreille de crisse’, travellers can also stock up their freezers with ready-to-eat meals, such as meatball stew or chicken pâté. I particularly enjoyed the originality of their Mexican pâté, as well as the homemade meat spread, which I savoured throughout the trip alongside local cheeses!

A perfect stop to stock up on provisions, where Terego members can sleep in a caravan or motorhome, lulled by the sound of the waves.

Le Bunker Farm (20 km)

At Le Bunker Farm, farming meets the joy of hospitality. The farm has been in the Plante family since 1887 and is now in its fifth generation of farmers. They specialize in pick-your-own fruit and vegetables, offering a wide variety: strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries, as well as squash and pumpkins, cherry tomatoes, beetroot, carrots, leeks and much more. The joy of pick-your-own is also about experiencing some of the work that goes into producing fruit and vegetables. During my visit, that’s when I discovered just how difficult leaks can be to pull out of the ground! I certainly enjoyed my homemade leak and pepper squash soup even more after picking up all the ingredients myself. If you have a sweet tooth, they also have a Maple Grove and offer treats such as maple taffy, maple butter, ice cream cones and maple syrup. In summer, their homemade strawberry and maple slush is as delicious as it is refreshing.

The tranquility of the island and the love of the great outdoors will be particularly appreciated by members spending the night in their campervan or caravan with this host.

Île d’Orléans has that rare ability to make you forget that you’re only a few minutes away from Québec City. With Terego, travelling by motorhome takes on a whole new dimension: you don’t just pass through the regions, you experience them from the inside. You meet the hosts, discover their stories… and then, as night falls, you can enjoy the island’s tranquility from the comfort of your RV.
