Travel Journal – Ontario by RV, Through Blake’s Eyes
September 23, 2025Escapade
There's nothing like hitting the road to discover the soul of a region. Blake, a member of the Terego team, took to the road for an RV road trip across Ontario. His goal: to meet current and potential hosts, but above all to experience it as a Terego member. Here’s his travel journal, filled with culinary discoveries, endearing animals, and memorable landscapes.
River’s Edge Goat Dairy
Upon arrival, Blake describes this place as “a hidden island in a sea of suburban homes.” At River’s Edge Goat Dairy, Katie and Will have built a veritable oasis over the past 25 years. When they first arrived, there was no electricity or water, but they transformed the place into a beautiful and vibrant farm populated by eccentric and friendly residents. The goats, horses, chickens, turkeys, pigs, and even two free-roaming dogs immediately set the tone: this farm exudes authenticity. Clover, a mischievous goat kid, even invited himself into the RV and headed straight for the bed! Their small on-site shop is full of treasures: a variety of goat cheeses, yogurt, kefir, goat meat, as well as handmade soaps and creams. As a cheese lover, Blake stocked up on many varieties, such as Pippen soft cheese, the house specialty, goat Parmesan, goat yogurt, and much more. He enjoyed it all while sitting peacefully in his van with a breathtaking view of the sunset.
This host offers a rare peaceful stopover where Terego members can spend the night in their RV.

Mistyglen Creamery
If you're a fan of cheese curds, Blake invites you to try those at Mistyglen Creamery. They're the best he's had in a long time! Their products are made from milk sourced directly from their cows and processed on site. To ensure the highest quality and safety, their milk is pasteurized at the lowest temperature legally possible. It is not homogenized, and is sometimes referred to as “cream milk,” which makes their products delicious. The farm shop offers artisanal ice cream (Blake recommends the peanut butter flavour!). You'll also find their own coffee, Jibber Java, named after one of their cows. Note: another cow officially serves as a security guard, as indicated by the sign.
After enjoying ice cream and the best cheese curds in town, Terego members can spend the night in a trailer or motorhome.

Clovermead Adventure Farm
A must-see for families! What started as a small honey business has grown into a huge bee-themed attraction. Clovermead Adventure Farm features a 10-acre Wild West-style park with animals, games, a corn maze, and even a pumpkin cannon! Blake was fascinated by the bee beard competition (yes, a living beard made of bees!). He didn't expect such diversity! Fun for everyone: young and old, curious minds and nature lovers. His favourite activity? The honey bar, where he tasted sweet and rich buckwheat honey, and the shop is full of golden jars to take home. It's the perfect place to spend the day and then relax around a fire in the evening. Terego members can spend the night under the stars in an RV or van.

Dancing Pig Farms
Dancing Pig Farms, located near Walsingham, is a true paradise for blueberry and flower lovers. This visit holds a special place in Blake's heart, as it was the very first host he recruited for the Terego network. The owners, Socorro and Gordon, are passionate about sustainable agriculture and eager to show you around their farm, where you can pick your own produce. Their slow-roasted black garlic can be eaten like candy, but with much better health benefits. While walking around the property, Blake saw the owners' famous trailer, which is home to 30 ducks. “It was pretty impressive to walk past the trailer and see 30 duck heads staring at you through the window!” -Blake.
After spending the night in his RV, he left with beautiful flowers, lots of black garlic, a wide variety of vegetables, and wonderful memories.

Puddicombe Estate Farms & Winery
Puddicombe Estate Farms & Winery offers a rustic and authentic atmosphere that is welcoming in the Niagara region. This farm has been owned by the same family for 200 years. And although the word “cider house” does not appear in its name, it produces some of the best apple and pear ciders in the region, which are not overly sweet. If you have the opportunity, Blake highly recommends stopping by for a tasting. Their pear cider is now one of his favourites! The owner's passion for trains is reflected in the unique presence of an old dining car (converted into a seasonal café), a caboose, and other railcars (as well as a mini train for children and families in the summer).
The Terego members' location offers a magnificent view of the hills and the sunset.

Geissberger Farmhouse Cider
At Geissberger Farmhouse Cider, Blake received the warmest welcome of his journey from Gary and Gord. Their new shop features, on one side, a range of “hard” ciders and, on the other, “mild” (non-alcoholic) ciders. Both are deliciously fresh, with a perfectly balanced sweetness. Blake was fascinated by their unique, custom-built “mobile press,” which they lend to farms throughout the region. The press washes and processes the apples, then pasteurizes the cider in a single operation. This also means that their sweet ciders do not require refrigeration, which is an advantage when space is limited in your RV's fridge, already filled with goodies from Terego stops visited along the way!
The Terego stopover offers plenty of tranquility and a breathtaking view of the region's night sky.

At every stop along the way, Blake encountered passionate families, unique products, and magnificent landscapes. His advice? Dare to venture off the beaten path: that's where the magic of Terego truly comes into its own.
