In May 2004, we purchased a farm at St-Jacques-le-Mineur. We then realised an old dream. In the Summer of 2005, we started to work with children and family to modify the farm’s ‘vocation’. We planted various rustic vines and blueberry plants. Our plantation is now made of 4000 vine stocks, 300 blueberry plants and 175 new hazel trees for a first production in 2017.

A wide range of products is made with these fruits farmed on site eco-responsibly. We developed high quality fruit spreads containing over 72% of fruits. We produce the Goria (also known as ‘Espelette’) pepper since 2011. ‘Au Fil du Vent’ is the first producer of verjuice made from the pressing of three unripe grape varieties (Frontenac noir, Sabrevois, Ste-Croix). It offers a nice acidity followed by a pleasant fruity after taste. What is great about verjuice is its multiple use: it replaces vinegar in many recipes: it is a savoury local alternative to lemon juice (for salad dressing, marinades, gazpacho, risotto, desert, cocktails and more!). A verjuice drop also gives a nice twist to a glass of fresh water (or to warm water, with a touch of honey, for chilly days).

We acquired a hive in 2014 to better pollinate our berry flowers. It worked so well that we are now equipped with three hives and we are installing flower beds to increase flowers for our bees. We produce linden crude honey in Summer and Fall.

Our domain includes flower and alpine plant gardens, alpine gardens, a vineyard, a blueberry plantation, a hazel tree plantation and a picnic area. A guided visit of the domain takes about 45 minutes and we ask a contribution of $5 per person (free for children under 12).

Merci !
