The ‘Binerie Plantagenet’ is a small franco-ontarian business producing over two tons of baked beans a week. The business produces three types of baked beans: vegetarian, breakfast (sweeter) and traditional with bacon fat. The owners, Alain Lapensée and Dominique Auger, are proud to continue the business tradition started several decades ago by the Lalonde family and Alain’s father.

Come and visit us and be tempted by the various terroir specialties that we offer at our boutique, fresh or frozen. Take a moment to visit our ‘fart caboose’ which explains the transformation of an old bakery into a true baked bean factory… A lot more that just beans and sugar pies!

Our small Ontario village, Plantagenet, owns the title of the Capital of the Baked Bean. A Bean Festival takes place every September since 2001. There is a Canadian strong man championship taking place as well as numerous activities and fun things to do, for the enjoyment of everyone… Consult our Facebook page for more details, or that of the Festival : https://www.facebook.com/Festivaldelabine/

Welcome to all RV travelers friends of terroir! We are open from Monday to Saturday. If you want to visit us on Sunday, call us ahead so we can welcome you. (You will find our phone number in the booking confirmation email)

Parking information: RV travelers use the graveled parking lot located beside the shop and behind the ‘fart caboose’.
